Jane and Seth on A Safe Universe

“As long as you believe that you dwell in a universe that is a threat, you must defend yourself against it. As long as you believe that the self is flawed and that the race is doomed and evil, you must defend yourself against yourself. And how can you then trust the voice of the psyche? When I say to you, ‘be spontaneous’, how dare you take that step? To be spontaneous would obviously give rise to all the lust, passion, murder, and hatred that to you is inherent in the human heart.”

The Seth Material in a Nutshell

“You cannot escape your own attitudes, for they will form the nature of what you see. Quite literally you see what you want to see; and you see your own thoughts and emotional attitudes materialized in physical form. If changes are to occur, they must be mental and psychic changes. These will be reflected in your environment. Negative, distrustful, fearful, or degrading attitudes toward anyone work against the self.” – Seth

Live in Love, Truth, and Joy! Why? Because love is the opposite of fear. Truth is the opposite of lying. Joy is the opposite of sadness. In other words, when we choose to live in love, truth and joy, we make ourselves and the people around us happy, even if they don’t know why they’re happy.

Living in Love, Truth and Joy is the highest form of energy when it is genuine, when it is sincere. Love produces calm, openness, acceptance and sharing while fear produces anxiety, defensiveness, separation and judgment. Truth produces trust, excellence, confidence and safety while lies produce uncertainty, unfairness, weakness and risk. Joy produces laughter, creativity, and spontaneity while depression produces withdrawal, contempt and inertia.

When we choose to live in Love, Truth, and Joy, we choose to exchange negative expectations for positive expectations, cynicism and judgment for optimism and acceptance. We change from being the passive victims of our reality to being the conscious creators of it. Instead of leaving angry, unhappy faces in our wake as we move about the world, we leave happy, satisfied ones in our wake. As Gandhi says: We must be the change we wish to see in the world.

Share this message with others around you and live in Love, Truth, and Joy!

How We Can Counteract the Corrupting Influence of Power

Barack Obama seems to have both his feet on the ground but what about the rest of us? Because our cultures and their institutions have a disturbing tendency to define us and life in negative, often frightening terms, terms like “consumer, citizen, employee, lower class, middle class, upper class, worker, God’s children, basically bad, can’t trust ourselves, survival of the fittest, accident of nature, dog eat dog, devil take the hindmost, kill or be killed, eat or be eaten; sit down, shut up and do as I tell you because I know what’s best for you”, we have a tendency to worship authority, to depend on it to think for us instead of thinking for ourselves. This environment of fear and oppression produces many among us who love to foster dependence because it makes them feel like someone special and promises them a steady stream of customers, clients, constituents, fans and gun fodder for military operations.

By accepting the disempowering influence of a negative belief system, we set ourselves up for hero worship and dependency on dynamic leaders. Hitler’s Germany had its Brown Shirts; Maoist China, its Red Guard; and the Middle East, its Al-Queda and Taliban. And when great power is concentrated in one person or group, there is danger it will unbalance them and lead to abuse. Quote from Lord Acton in a letter to Bishop Mandell Creighton in 1887: “Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.”

Just as we have business, military, religious and political leaders who become drunk from the influence of money, power and privilege (money, power and privilege junkies), the public can become blinded and corrupted by mental laziness and hero worship. The corrupting influence of money, power and privilege affects us all and the only way to disarm it is to be aware of its corrupting influence, and develop ways to counteract it. Under the bright light of adoration it’s hard for anyone to think clearly, even someone as clear, balanced and loving as Barack Obama. We need to be aware of this and refrain from pressuring him for personal gain.

what'sgoing

We can start by asking ourselves what’s going to work best for ALL of us, instead of what’s going to work best for ME. We can refrain from trying to corrupt one another with the promise of money, power and privilege. That makes us no better than the drug dealer hanging around the school grounds handing out free bags of cocaine, knowing how addictive it is. Once hooked, addicts will do almost anything for a fix and drug dealers know it. Wealthy and famous individuals, businesses and organizations know this as well, only their drug of influence is the promise of money, power and privilege.

Few of us have the clarity of mind, strength, wisdom or power to resist temptation when it’s closely associated with feelings of pleasure and survival, especially if we’re overly busy or buy into the belief that we’re basically bad and can’t trust ourselves. Ideas like these, if we choose to believe them, effectively disarm us. It’s time to understand we create our reality from the ideas we choose to believe. We are not bad, it is our ideas about who we are, what reality is and what the purpose of life is that can make us do bad things. It’s time to question the ideas we base our actions on because, how we define ourselves and the world around us forms our intent, which in turn, forms our reality.

Barack Obama  promises to be a great leader but he needs us to take responsibility for our part in changing the world for the better. Part of that responsibility is to give him room to be himself, while we focus on becoming the next best version of who we can be. Change for the better? Yes, we can!

Three Core Beliefs That Will Change The World For The Better – Seth

1. You create your own reality according to the nature of your beliefs.

2. All existence is blessed.

3. Evil does not exist in reality.

What do you think about these statements? Do you agree with them or disagree with them? How is Seth looking at reality? Where is he coming from and what is he saying about the nature and purpose of being? Let’s discuss it!

We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience. – Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

What do you think? Are we human beings only? Is our human experience all there is, or are we spiritual beings having a human experience? How does your belief affect the way you treat yourself? How does it affect the way you treat others? Share your thoughts! How we define ourselves and the world around us forms our intent, which in turn, forms our reality.

World Community Grid Proposal

(The World Community Grid is an organization formed to explore alternative energy ideas. Harvard and UC Berkeley are two universities involved in the project. Using IBM software, they want people to volunteer use of their computers in crunching data for the project.)

You’re currently using computer systems and technical skill to explore alternative energy possibilities but, how are you using your intuitive skills and abilities? For years I’ve toyed with the idea of starting a workshop that used intuitive skills to achieve breakthroughs in technology and human understanding. As you know many scientific breakthroughs are achieved indirectly, through dreams and distracted moments on the hopper or in the shower.

I’ve used intuitive skills to gain new understanding about who we are, what reality is and what the purpose of life is. I call the format I use, Ask Value Questions and Listen for Intuitive Answers. You can view this process at:  https://diaryofamystic.com/2007/09/25/ask-value-questions/. Russell Targ developed a similar style of asking questions that accomplished the same thing for Remote Viewing.

I propose assembling a team of technical experts, going through a discussion process to remove intellectual bias, formulating questions to focus our attention on the results we want and then, letting our imaginations do the rest. For example, clearly picture Oprah Winfrey in your mind. With your full attention, ask her, What does the world looks like through your eyes? With practice, your imagination will actually put you in a creative simulation of her body and her life. You will know what it feels like to be her. You will imaginatively experience her reality and be able to think like her.

See: https://diaryofamystic.com/2007/09/28/inside-ivy-2/. In this experience, I made direct contact with the consciousness of a house plant. I entered its field of awareness and experienced reality from its viewpoint. As Pierre Teilhard de Chardin writes, “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.” When you take this idea seriously, life takes on a whole new meaning!

Built in to who we are are capabilities that far exceed any machine we’ve ever built. If any of the folks in your project want to pursue this avenue of exploration, let me know. I’ll be happy to participate.

Letter to Barrack and Michelle Obama

August 5, 2008

Dear Barack and Michelle,

My wife and I believe in your ideals and want to do something to reflect the real issues people are concerned about in this presidential campaign and at this moment in human history. The enclosed brochure contains twenty two hard hitting ideas on t-shirts, buttons, hats and signs. Many reflect the consequences of continuing to have republican conservatism in the White House. The cynicism, greed and contempt for the public shown by big business and the Bush Administration is unacceptable and people who continue to reelect them need to see, clearly, what they are voting for.

One World

What would the world be like if, instead of competing for money, power and privilege, we cared more about becoming better people? To paraphrase Apollo 11 astronaut, Neil Armstrong, as he set foot on the moon, July 20, 1969, That would be one small step for a man and one giant leap for mankind.

What would life be like if we cared more about how we treat ourselves and one another than how much money, power and privilege we amass? Instead of a Lower, Middle and Upper Class with an “external” value system, we would have something like a Lower, Middle and Upper Way with an “internal” value system. If we made the jump from one value system to the other today, many in the Upper Class would fall to the Lower Way because of the way they treat themselves and others and many from the Lower Class would rise to the Upper Way because of the way they treat themselves and others.

This is not to say there’s anything wrong with money, power and privilege; like every form of energy, it’s how we use it that matters. We can use energy in constructive ways or destructive ways. Think what would happen to the crime rate if our cultural focus shifted from competing for money, power and privilege to becoming better people. The crime rate would drop dramatically because learning how to treat ourselves and one another better is something we can all do. We all want to be loved and valued. Think what would happen in education if our primary goal became learning how to be who we loved to be and do what we loved to do instead of being who we’re told to be and doing what we’re told to do. Think of the natural passion, love and appreciation that change would unleash and what it would do for us as individuals and the world.

Changing Ourselves

When creating good jobs and safe products for a healthy economy issues from our desire to change ourselves and the world for the better, our universe becomes a safer place. When jobs and goods are created to make us rich and powerful in a competitive world where life is seen as a matter of survival of the fittest, we feel unsafe and insist on strong regulation to protect ourselves from divisiveness, blind ambition and outright lies. Great business leaders, great philosophers and great political and spiritual leaders like you would still arise, given the need, but for different reasons. We would aspire to greatness out of love of self and public service, not fear, egotism and a drive for self-survival in a hostile world. We CAN change ourselves and the world for the better if we replace the acquisition of money, power and privilege as our primary goal with the goal of learning how to treat ourselves and one another better.

If we want to survive as a species, we must realize what we’ve done is not nearly as important as what we do now and in the future. Too often we waste time finding fault with ourselves and the world, instead of using our time to create a better self and a better world.

We are both one AND separate but many of us forget this fact and think of ourselves as separate only. As a result, we ask, what’s going to work best for me? This sets us off in different directions, which inevitably leads to conflict and the need for strong external controls.

To achieve balance and SELF-control, we must first ask ourselves, what’s going to work best for ALL of us? This becomes a moral imperative, like “survival of the fittest” only, instead of a command that produces mindless and often destructive behavior; it asks a question that engages our minds in creative soul-searching, which leads to self-discovery and personal growth. We can further ask, what’s going to work best for ALL of us in personal terms, and in terms of business, education, the environment and peace? All are questions to engage the creative side of man for we are both the product of creation and the process of creation, itself.

To success for us all, my friends!

Regards,

Pete and Sandy

Peace!
