What Kind of Energy Do We Want to Send Out Into the World?

whatkindofenergy2

Suppose, for a moment, you could let go of all old memories of past mistakes, failures, losses, judgments and reaction patterns that have shaped your life up to now? If, for one moment, you could be free of all fear, anger, hurt, hate, doubt and suspicion, what kind of energy would you want to send out into the world? When I ask myself this question the answer always comes back, love.

One early morning in late 1985, while driving an empty mini-bus over Mt. St. Helena in Calistoga, California, I had a life-changing experience (Encounter With the Energy of Unconditional Love) that showed me what it feels like and what it means to be loved unconditionally. It was an emotional ride like no other. Following are several excerpts from that lengthy experience:

This is the energy of unconditional love,” says a deep, soothing male voice that seems to come from every point within the energy field at once.

Wow, I sob even harder now, because I know it’s true! That’s why I keep bursting into tears every time I touch this Energy. Intuitively, I must have known all along what it was but, intellectually, I didn’t have a clue until now. What I do next completely astounds me but seems only natural under the circumstances – I open up. I utterly and spontaneously open my life and being to this loving Energy. And just as quickly as I open up, I begin to shut down because it suddenly occurs to me that every thought, feeling, and act I’ve ever committed in life is now completely exposed to view, the bad ones as well as the good ones. Feelings of vulnerability and shame begin to fill my mind.

Sensing my growing anxiety, the all-present Voice calmly reassures me by saying: “Nothing you can ever say or do can keep you from being loved unconditionally.”

At once stunned and relieved by the unconditional acceptance behind these words, I cry even harder. I’ve never experienced this kind of love before, at least not in human terms! As I experience it now, I know there’s nothing I have to do to earn it. Just being is enough. Here, unlike the human world, there are no demands, no expectations, and no pre-conditions to satisfy before I receive love. It’s simply here to experience, remind and enjoy.

Literally bathing in this loving energy, I wonder if the anger, misperceptions, and imagined sins of my past will wash away forever. I use this moment to imagine they will, if not forever, at least for now. Even if it’s just the beginning of the end for these negative thoughts and feelings, that’s good enough for me.

As my own love begins to flow, I find myself joyfully wanting to perform miracles for this Loving Energy, to honor it for the loving regard in which it holds me. A superman in this alternate reality, I perform feats of magic and strength that are impossible to perform in the physical world. Then I stop to think about how important it is for me to fulfill my own unique potential as a human being here on earth. Suddenly, I know that the Energy of Unconditional Love is home, my real home! It is my place of birth or point of origin as a living soul. As I remember this, I also remember that the Energy of Unconditional Love is more than just a “place” – it is a state of mind and being I can create and experience wherever I am, no matter what I am doing!

When I can love enough to forgive and forget past mistakes and transgressions committed by me and against me, when I can see the world through other people’s eyes and realize that life is just as challenging for them as it is for me, my heart softens and love begins to flow. In that moment, I’m able to forgive us all for our trespasses and remember that what we do now and in the future is far more important than worrying about what we have done in the past.

Yes, forgiveness is the Big Kahuna I want to master! When I allow myself to forgive myself and others, I feel my spirit move. It’s a rare feeling, which tells me how much I’ve bought into the Old Testament, vengeance is mine philosophy of right and wrong, good and bad, guilt and punishment. Old Testament thinking is huge in our world and it is so self-destructive. Other than aging, it is the primary source of suffering, illness, injury and death in the world.

peacebegins

Forgiveness and Appreciation – Until we learn how to forgive, we cannot let go and move on. Until we stop treating ourselves like children, we cannot grow past childhood’s end. Until we can see how amazing life is, we cannot appreciate it for the magic and wonder that it is. Until we can do these things, we’ll be stuck in a time warp, doomed to repeat the same mistakes over and over again with little more than cosmetic change. Even though we are clever enough to build cars, airplanes and computers, we are still barbarians at heart until we learn how to forgive and move on. Isn’t it time we stop being the hapless victims of reality and become the conscious creators of it?

Is it hard to forget our old ways? Is it hard to forgive ourselves for past transgressions? Is it hard to take full responsibility for our lives and begin to think for ourselves? Yes, there is nothing harder! But, is it worth it? Yes! The more we practice forgiveness, the more we let it permeate us mind, body and soul, the more love will emerge to fill our lives. Forgiveness is the key to salvation and redemption. And once we actually forgive ourselves, we realize there was nothing to forgive in the first place. When we’re doing the best we can, what more can we ask of ourselves?  But there’s always more to know isn’t there? And once we know more, there is no excuse not to change.

Hi Robert,

I wasn’t aware we had an earthquake locally. Didn’t feel it and don’t pay much attention to the news.

Subscribing to an external value system of right and wrong, good and bad, guilt and punishment sets us up for debate. So does a belief in separation and competition because, instead of asking ourselves, what’s going to work best for ALL of us, we ask, what’s going to work best for me. Since government, business and educational institutions are based on these beliefs, we become conditioned to compete for approval. To “win” approval we need to prove that we’re smarter, richer, stronger, prettier, better or more correct than the other guy.

Until we acknowledge both our oneness and separation, we’ll continue to compete for outside approval because that’s what we’re used to. When we can ask, what’s going to work best for ALL of us first, then we’ll be in a position to discuss issues in search of best solutions for ALL of us, not just for personal ego gratification. The attention will move off us as individuals and onto results that affect us all. In the fear-based world we create now we tend to armor ourselves and become egobound. We need to create a safe universe where the ego can open up and become the eyes and ears of the soul, the way it is meant to be. With one foot in inner reality and one foot in outer reality, we’ll gain access to larger fields of information and be able to make more and better informed decisions. What’s Going to Work Best for ALL of Us?

If we want to survive as a species, we must realize what we’ve done is not nearly as important as what we do now and in the future. Too often we waste time finding fault with ourselves and the world, instead of using our time to create a better self and a better world.

We are both one AND separate but many of us forget this fact and think of ourselves as separate only. As a result, we ask, what’s going to work best for me? This sets us off in different directions, which leads to conflict and the need for strong external controls.

To restore balance and self-control, we must ask ourselves, what’s going to work best for ALL of us – in personal terms, and in terms of business, education the environment and peace?

Letter to Barrack and Michelle Obama

August 5, 2008

Dear Barack and Michelle,

My wife and I believe in your ideals and want to do something to reflect the real issues people are concerned about in this presidential campaign and at this moment in human history. The enclosed brochure contains twenty two hard hitting ideas on t-shirts, buttons, hats and signs. Many reflect the consequences of continuing to have republican conservatism in the White House. The cynicism, greed and contempt for the public shown by big business and the Bush Administration is unacceptable and people who continue to reelect them need to see, clearly, what they are voting for.

One World

What would the world be like if, instead of competing for money, power and privilege, we cared more about becoming better people? To paraphrase Apollo 11 astronaut, Neil Armstrong, as he set foot on the moon, July 20, 1969, That would be one small step for a man and one giant leap for mankind.

What would life be like if we cared more about how we treat ourselves and one another than how much money, power and privilege we amass? Instead of a Lower, Middle and Upper Class with an “external” value system, we would have something like a Lower, Middle and Upper Way with an “internal” value system. If we made the jump from one value system to the other today, many in the Upper Class would fall to the Lower Way because of the way they treat themselves and others and many from the Lower Class would rise to the Upper Way because of the way they treat themselves and others.

This is not to say there’s anything wrong with money, power and privilege; like every form of energy, it’s how we use it that matters. We can use energy in constructive ways or destructive ways. Think what would happen to the crime rate if our cultural focus shifted from competing for money, power and privilege to becoming better people. The crime rate would drop dramatically because learning how to treat ourselves and one another better is something we can all do. We all want to be loved and valued. Think what would happen in education if our primary goal became learning how to be who we loved to be and do what we loved to do instead of being who we’re told to be and doing what we’re told to do. Think of the natural passion, love and appreciation that change would unleash and what it would do for us as individuals and the world.

Changing Ourselves

When creating good jobs and safe products for a healthy economy issues from our desire to change ourselves and the world for the better, our universe becomes a safer place. When jobs and goods are created to make us rich and powerful in a competitive world where life is seen as a matter of survival of the fittest, we feel unsafe and insist on strong regulation to protect ourselves from divisiveness, blind ambition and outright lies. Great business leaders, great philosophers and great political and spiritual leaders like you would still arise, given the need, but for different reasons. We would aspire to greatness out of love of self and public service, not fear, egotism and a drive for self-survival in a hostile world. We CAN change ourselves and the world for the better if we replace the acquisition of money, power and privilege as our primary goal with the goal of learning how to treat ourselves and one another better.

This sets us off in different directions, which inevitably leads to conflict and the need for strong external controls.

To achieve balance and SELF-control, we must first ask ourselves, what’s going to work best for ALL of us? This becomes a moral imperative, like “survival of the fittest” only, instead of a command that produces mindless and often destructive behavior; it asks a question that engages our minds in creative soul-searching, which leads to self-discovery and personal growth. We can further ask, what’s going to work best for ALL of us in personal terms, and in terms of business, education, the environment and peace? All are questions to engage the creative side of man for we are both the product of creation and the process of creation, itself.

To success for us all, my friends!

Regards,

Pete and Sandy

Peace!

THINK Outside the Box!

Think!

We are both the products of creation and creation itself. We are both one AND separate. We are both physical AND nonphysical (we dream and imagine, and “physical” reality only exists in the moment, as we know it). Each one of us is creating our own unique version of the universe from moment to moment, some of it shared and some not. There is no right or wrong, good or bad; there just IS. We have free will and there is nothing we HAVE to do, only what we want to do. Which self, which world do we want to create?

Why limit ourselves to small pictures of who we are and what reality is, and argue over justification for what often amounts to short-sighted, self-serving behavior that threatens our long term chances for survival? Let’s THINK outside the box and DO what works best for ALL of us because, ultimately, we all depend on each other to at least give us room to be, if not embrace us with love and appreciation.

Belief Systems – A Message from Veronica

(VERONICA is channeled by medium April Crawford – Pete)

“Every existence in the physical participates in a belief system that becomes relevant or irrelevant to the soul as it progresses.

There is no judgement from our perspective of which system perpetuates evolvement or not.  Each experience is designed to bring clarity.  Since the soul energy is unique and omnipotent it is only natural that there would be a variety of choices for every soul in every lifetime.

It is important for all souls incarnate to recognize the uniqueness they posses by existing in the physical.  The honoring of other soul choices should not be excluded on the path to individual evolvement.  As proven often in your physical sciences energy frequency is varied and multi-tiered in its intenseness.  It is only natural that there would be many approaches to the alignment of the core energy from which one emanates, i.e., the source of your soul.

Questions have been posed as to the origin of our energy.  We are as yourselves only not continuing the physical line.  Our perspective is a bit broader due to the lack of linear drama often created on the way to understanding in physical.

We seek not to pontificate on the path you should take.  We merely offer perspective on the truths you really already know & which you may have forgotten… or perhaps misinterpreted.

There is not a correct single belief system since there are many varied consciousness souls currently involved in physical.  These systems are usually derived from culture, and serve the individual in their numerous lessons and perspectives.

Religion in its linear form also can shade the beliefs of an individual.  We only remind you to seek the truth of your soul, not the outside dogma and ceremonies attached to a particular religious venue.

Always seek the energy of your soul.  If indeed a particular path calls you then be where you must be.  Eventually the truth of eternity will find you, until then simply listen to your soul.

The voice of the inner will always be the clear one regardless of the volume of the many.”

Outer Senses and Inner Senses

Our intellectual abilities, in partnership with our physical senses, enable us to see the differences between things, to categorize and label them, and to manipulate data and information. They allow us to objectify our experience, see it from the outside in. Our intuitive abilities and inner senses, on the other hand, allow us to subjectify our experience or see it from the inside out.

Post on Huffington Post

(Response to the tone of comments  on the Huffington Post, and in general, on other Blogs)

I once programmed myself to have a particular dream. I wanted know what it was like to be a snake and a shark, two beings that symbolize death to me. As a snake, in the first part of my dream, I felt profoundly vulnerable because I had no arms or legs. All I could do was crawl on my belly and use my mouth to defend myself. In the background of my mind was a memory of a time when the snake did have legs and lost them as a form of punishment for some past indiscretion. I couldn’t tell whether the vision was a projection of my mind or the snake’s and whether it was real or imagined. All I know is I felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave the mind of the snake.

I next found myself embedded in the consciousness of a shark. We were slowly approaching the side of a small boat with a large piece of fish hung over the side. A fisherman stood next to the bait holding a gaff in his hands, ready to hook the shark as it rose for the bait. I tried to reason with the shark but the idea of food filled its mind beyond reason. It was going to get that piece of fish or die in the process. Just before it lunged for the bait, I left its mind and woke myself up.

From some of the posts in response to this article, I get the same feeling I had inside the mind of my shark host – that reason has flown out the window for many of us. The shark in my dream let his hunger control his behavior while many of us today let fear control their behavior.

Let’s all stand up and face the challenges confronting us today with calm, honesty and dignity. By changing ourselves for the better, we can change the world for the better. – Pete

Victims of Our Own Thinking

How often do we stop to examine the ideas that motivate, or drive, us to see where they’re taking us as we create our reality from moment to moment? Judging from our concern about human overcrowding, disease, increased global warming from human activity, increasing interpersonal and international conflict, and general planetary degradation, it is safe to assume we don’t examine our motives, where they come from and where they are taking us, as well and as often as we should.

Intuition – Invisible Acts of Power

There is a deep-seated misconception that being intuitive is a gift. It’s not. There is no such thing as a gift for intuition. I have finally realized that courage is the true gift, and intuition is sharpened as a result. Either you develop the ability to respond physically to what you are hearing, feeling, and sensing on the inside-or you don’t. Responding to others takes guts. What determines whether or not you have those guts is self-esteem. It is a strong sense of self. It is a willingness and ability to take charge of yourself.

You don’t need a lot of self-esteem. A little bit goes a long way; suddenly you are generous enough to give up the need to control other people. You don’t need to become 100% empowered. A 51% to 49% ratio will do the trick. Just get to the point where you’re conscious enough to hold yourself accountable for your own feelings. Just admit that you’re jealous, or embarrassed, or that you could betray a friend. Just get a little bit honest with your shadow. The moment you arrive there, you can really start dealing with your life.

You can’t live your life if all you focus on is how other people’s shadows have hurt you, you poor thing. You’ve got to get to the point where you look at the weapon that you’ve hidden in your own dark space. When you get to that point you can start looking at the healing of your self-esteem. As soon as that self-esteem is in place in a little bit of a way, you don’t pretend you don’t see that homeless person. You acknowledge that, “I see that person and I’m choosing to ignore that person.”

You don’t turn away and engage in conversation with a friend, in order to convince the friend that you didn’t see the homeless person. You don’t worry that if you didn’t do this, your friend might think you’re a terrible person because you’re walking by; you’re hoping that they think, “She didn’t see the homeless person because she’s talking to me.” At the same time you’re hoping the homeless person doesn’t say anything to the two of you, and become impossible to ignore, because you don’t want to part with a dollar.

That’s a lot of psychic drama, all because you don’t want to admit that, intuitively, you feel the energy of that homeless person; you go to all this trouble to avoid taking action on your intuitive hit. You’ve just received an intuitive hit, and not acted on it. That’s low self-esteem. If your intuition gave you the perfect instructions for your own physical healing, are you then going to say, “I can’t do it. What will the neighbors think?”

You might be worried about the state of the world, at the twenty thousand children dying each day in poor countries. Yet think of the problems of our own culture: People lying twenty thousand times a month. Which is the greater tragedy? In our culture, our poverty of spirit is horrible. Most of us are far more focused on managing other people’s dishonesty than in developing our own wisdom.

In 1975 I attended my very first lecture on consciousness. I was in my early twenties, and it was the first time I’d seen someone from the East. The teacher said, “The best gift you can give anyone in this life is to become a fully congruent human being.” The first thought I had in response was, “In a world that’s starving, what kind of self-centered, selfish idea is that?’ But today, I can’t imagine a more compassionate thing. The finest force you can be is a fully congruent soul.

When you have healthy self-esteem, you stop worrying what anyone else will say or think about what you’re doing. You glide with life, going where you’re called. Your intuition leads you effortlessly into acts of service. You channel grace. Even just closing your eyes and thinking about a problem, you channel grace.
